Revit is an Autodesk computer-aided design (CAD) software tool used for building information modeling (BIM) by design-build construction teams. Revit is used in the digital design of buildings and their structural components, and integrates with other Autodesk software tools for purposes of virtual design and construction management throughout a building’s construction lifecycle.

Drones scans of construction projects can be used in Revit to generate point clouds of the existing conditions of a building or site, which can then be imported into Revit for further analysis and manipulation.

Revit is part of the Autodesk Architecture, Engineering, & Construction (AEC) Collection of software tools, which also includes popular tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Infraworks, and Navisworks. All of these tools feed into an integrated system of construction management software known as Buildong Information Modelling, or BIM.
